Finca Buenos Aires

Fully operational farm located 195 kilometers South from San Jose, just 1 Kilometer off the Interamerican Highway in the inland Valle Del General. Surrounded by two mountain ranges: Talamanca (has the highest peak in Costa Rica, Cerro Chirripo) and Costeña, drained by the largest river in the country: Rio Grande de Terraba. The South Pacific spectacular beaches are less than 90 kms away (Dominical, Uvita, and Ballena)

Elevation from 400 to 450 meters above sea level with mild tropical climate, temperatures between 28C and 21C.

The farm has as main activity a 120-steer development program with improved pastures, self-grown forages, and supply of residual pineapple.

These programs are supported with 3 employee houses, administrative house, corral and scale, storage areas, access roads, fences, feeding troughs, internal water springs with waterfall. The Eastern boundary encompasses a year round stream called Quebrada Lopez.

The farm has all utilities and services and is located less than 1 kilometer from Supermarkets, Restaurants, Banks, Gas Stations, local airport, etc. As neighbor it has the major private pineapple operation of Del Monte with pineapple plantations, known for producing the unique pink pineapple, currently only grown in Costa Rica, right next to the finca. These activities provide free crushed pineapple residuals which is one of the main elements for the cattle feeding.

The farm is well known with neighboring farmers and local veterinarians, as a model farm known for it’s innovative systems, that is constantly implementing cutting edge programs that increase efficiencies, productivity, and quality.
